The 5 Essential Items For Any Size Bathroom
The 5 Essential Items For Any Size Bathroom
Bathrooms can be tricky to design. They should be practical enough to serve their purpose, but not feel too stark and uninviting. Without making major material swaps, meshing both elements can be achieved by incorporating a few key items.
Find out how to make your bathroom practical and personal with these 5 essential items.
STORAGE BINS
I am a sucker for organization. It gives me so much joy and I can’t help but stick with it because it makes me so happy.
Living in a one-bathroom apartment with my fiancé challenged us to make it as efficient as possible. I personally have a handful of small items that I use on a regular basis. These storage options below made it easier to group and sort them within our sink base cabinet and a couple of drawers. The glass apothecary jars are my fav for a punch of uniqueness and reasonable.
BASKETS
Lalalove a cute basket, especially when it keeps my larger items organized. Adding a touch of texture like the first and third baskets below will add interest to the space. The second is a more practical option with an easily cleanable surface and skid lining on the edges.
RUGS
The right rug can give the best of both worlds making them essential for a bathroom. Selecting one made from durable materials like jute or wool will make them last longer. In fact, there are many options to pick from made of both of these materials that are aesthetically pleasing as well. Rugs in general give a pop of personality to a space from the settled neutrals to the bold geometrics. They will also add a touch of warmth to your feet against a cool floor. Check out more options for other spaces in my post, Rugs That Feel Like Artwork for Your Home.
HAND TOWELS
Hand towels are both practical and aesthetically pleasing. Hanging them on display acts similarly to a piece of art by bringing in as much or as little color as wanted. In addition, they add a layer of texture to the space. This creates depth making the bathroom feel less stark in contrast with the harder materials. The function and beauty make for an essential item in this space.
ART
Lastly, incorporating art is a must! You can’t go wrong. I especially love this item because it keeps out of way, doesn’t take up storage, and illuminates personality! Depending on the piece, it can be an inexpensive option that makes the entire space.
